ABOUT ANGIE
A beloved daughter, a courageous spirit…
My daughter, Angela Brooke Warner, was born on March 11, 1981, with dazzling eyes and a hearty spirit. Three months later, my wife, Linda, and I found ourselves frightened and horrified when we learned that Angela had cystic fibrosis.
From the time of the diagnosis at three months, Angela began an intensive daily regimen of treatments and therapies. She adapted remarkably to the structured schedule. Throughout her life Angela carried out her exhaustive routine with a quiet discipline and grace. Until she was nineteen, her friends and even the boys she dated were not aware of her illness. Preferring not to risk the pity of others, Angela focused on her friends, her family and helping others.
Angela excelled in school but always had time to reach out to others. Her thoughtful and genuine expressions of love and friendship resulted in many lifelong relationships. Angela’s “neon” smile was practically a trademark.
She was a varsity cheerleader in high school and graduated with honors. She began a small eBay business while in college and briefly relocated to California before health issues brought her back to Minnesota.
All that Angela was, and all that she accomplished, was achieved while fighting a courageous daily battle against cystic fibrosis.
On February 6, 2003, at age twenty-one, our precious Angela lost her fight with cystic fibrosis and passed away. For Linda and me, Angela will always be the love of our lives and our hero. She brought meaning to each day and her life serves as an inspiration for us to fulfill her legacy — a legacy of love.
